Hanna Sturm: “Seeking serenity”

“I live and work between Berlin and the Canary Islands – and many other places”, says Hanna Sturm, a photographer in search of novelty. “I need to travel and go to calm and isolated places to find inspiration”. The artist has never wanted to study photography. Preferring not to think things though, she lets herself be guided by the moment. “I practice a meditative photography. I like to reconnect and forget about my surroundings for a while. Then, I capture what I see, what I focus on. I try to decompose our surcharged and hasty environment.” Hann Sturm’s images – though destructured – are harmonious and serene. A welcomed shot of freedom.
