An overview of Damien Maloney

Damien Maloney, 31, is an American photographer. His pictures skillfully blend together the inspiration of moments lost in time, and staged images. “Sometimes putting a lot of work and effort into a picture makes a really good picture”, he explains, “and sometimes things are best undisturbed. I like to blur the boundaries, so that it is unclear whether I have created a situation or happened upon a situation”. His photographs are echoes, carried by the same themes and aesthetics. Delicate and colourful, his images form a cohesive ensemble, like an puzzle, linked together by the same beauty. Here is the occasion to examine it, piece by piece.
