Here’s a focus on five of the readers’ favourite discoveries, presented last August on Fisheye’s website: Pascual Martínez & Vincent Sáez, Julien Mignot, Judith Sayrach, Roger Bucher, et Françoise Huguier.
1. Pascual Martínez & Vincent Sáez
Fascinated by the culture and traditions of Romania, Pascual Martínez and Vincent Sáez have been working on their long-term project since 2014. They signed, with The Saxons of Transylvania, a series turned book, about spirituality. They tell us the story of the Saxons: an ethnic group from Germany who lived in Transylvania for 8 centuries. Let us meet the Spanish photographic duo.

2. Julien Mignot
Until September 20th, 2020, Julien Mignot has settled in the Hotel Fontreyde, Photographic Center in Clermont-Ferrand, France. Portraits of celebrities, metaphysical thoughts or modern voyeurism… The exhibition Le photographe et son double is the occasion to (re)discover the work of this talented French photographer.

3. Judith Sayrach
“I present on my Instagram account memories from my trips over the past five years. I like working with natural elements. Nature is indeed my main source of inspiration. I realised this when I got lost in it, alone”,
says Judith Sayrach, a photographer born and based in Barcelona. Seaside landscapes, trees, flowers, sunsets and birds… These are her favourite views.

4. Roger Bucher
From the sweet and dark images emanates a special, somewhat surreal energy. “I am captivated by the strength and deafening sound of the river. I am absorbed by the dense and dark forest. This place has the power to embrace and devour at the same time – it is both frightening and soothing.” With Lahondès, Roger Bucher immerse us into a beautiful and unsettling nature, where time seems suspended.
