Cristian Ordóñez : “At the Pace of the bloom”

“I am curious to see how life is in the rural world. I was interested in modern farmers, their relations with the earth, and their wish to leave the city. In 2018, I started documenting their lifestyle”, Chilean photographer Cristian Ordóñez tells us. The artist thus captured his experience. “I did not want to focus on nature’s beauty, but rather on how certain details may reveal unknown spaces”. How to adapt to more and more expensive cities? What are the alternatives? Though Cristian Ordóñez still lives in an urban area, and is afraid of leaving, he keeps questioning the sense of belonging and the relationship to our living space. “How important is the relation between the human condition and earth?” Cristian Ordóñez asks. A subtle reflection on western lifestyles.
