Res : 'Read You'

For Res, 31 years old, there is no boundary between the ‘him’ and the ‘her’. Neither feminin, nor masculin. The artist doesn’t identify with either genre and is defined as ‘the queer artist’. Res’s series Read You, created between 2014 – 2016, expresses his/her desire to connect to their surroundings. ‘I use light, colour, and minimalist frames to breathe my emotions – powerful emotions that I am not always able to define‘. In Read You, Res only uncovers very subtly his/her subjects, ‘that I am part of – a desire to be seen but not completely uncovered‘. Res made us understand that, like identity, intimacy is a not a barrier that can be easily confronted. It’s a fragile territory that isn’t conquered but is forged through relationships. With a delicate modesty, Res succeeds in transporting us in his personal and intimate universe. Photography acts here as a bridge as much as a window that the artist let’s us peek into to his/her everyday eloquent beauty.
