“Butterfly Days is a love story between humans and butterflies.” A small village in the south of England lives for its butterflies. The inhabitants study these winged insects, grow plants to attract them and know their shapes and colors by heart. Photographer Bego Antón offers us a record of this enchanted place. “They love them not merely because of their beauty, or their colors, or even the way they move, but because of all these things together” says Bego. She maneuvers the camera delicately, as if she were holding the wings of a butterfly. The shots highlight the subjects’ grace, and their pace resembles that of silent afternoons spent looking through a magnifying glass. This heart-warming series is an evocative documentary that doesn’t compromise on the magic of this poetic reality.
