“My photography’s raw material is found in urban spaces” Aliocha Boi says. The French-Canadian-Italian photographer paints, with the shapes and colours of the streets, graphic and bright pictures. Discovering a deserted Paris during quarantine, he composed his Quiet Symphony. “Usually chaotic and lively, the capital was transformed: a calmer and more peaceful air was playing before my eyes”, he tells us. Inspired by the notion of divide, the interactions between men and environment, the photographer documented abandonment, “all these things left behind, hastily, in the streets, as if Parisians had suddenly disappeared and only remained their tracks”, he adds. Lost rubbish, torn advertisings and disposable gloves punctuated his roaming in the metropolis. Here and there, passers-by, their faces hidden behind masks, catch his eyes. A strange stroll, guided by a sweet melody coming from an open window…
