Growth

Evan James Atwood

“I remember dreaming that I was a part of the earth and that weeds were growing from my chest. When I woke up, I just wanted them to become flowers. I called this process “Growth”. “Growth” is the blossoming connection between humans and nature at the start of spring and summer. Flowers symbolise the liveliness of spring; the bees, what links us to nature; and weeds, the sadness of seeing them disappear. We’re now playing a major role in the balance of nature, and this realisation motivated my series”.
