This week, we present the work of two french photographers. Here, two different universes are exposed, falling within surrealism. Jérémie Dru captures the technique of double-exposures and Anaëlle Cathala through collages.
Anaëlle Cathala
Anaëlle is an artist and self-taught videographer, practicing analogue photography for many years. Photography allows her to “play with images” while at the same time creating new realities. By using collages, she creates unique atmospheres and unexpected spaces. If her images seem surrealist, they stay logical, expressing what is invisible for us to see and prove that “real isn’t only real in what we see“.

Jérémie Dru
What is Jérémies playing field ? Town in all it’s forms. For him, urban spaces are a complex matrix that are impossible to understand in it’s entity. Photography allows him to stop time and anchor elements into it. Like surrealists before him, Jérémie uses double exposures on the negative without any digital editing in todays Paris. This method allows him to “witness the different states of the town, to see it simultaneously“. The steps through Voyageur incertain “Uncertain traveller – ed”, links the lines of the buildings and shows a coexistence full of possibility.
