At only 19 years old, Australian photographer Sam Johnson already possesses a unique aesthetic. Interested by photography since forever, the young artist’s work is guided by his inspiration. “My photographic approach changes all the time, he tells us. I like to develop new concepts and wander around for hours, always looking for new ideas.” Still in progress, his series Shades ties together images of similar colour palettes. The warm and pink tones of the pictures lets the imagination run free in his project, as well as the lack of characters. In this strange universe, familiar but still unknown, Sam Johnson arouses the viewer’s curiosity. Do we already know those landscapes? What stories do they hide? A poetic and bubbly series.
