Kourtney Roy : "Sorry, No Vacancy"

Very often, the Canadian Kourtney Roy exercises her abilities with self-portrait. This young photographer likes to act out different scenarios in a universe overflowing with an eerie mystery and strangeness. She photographes herself alone instigated by quirkiness and reverie. In 2017, she goes to the heart of Texas, in the vaste deserts of the South-West and carried out the series Sorry, No Vacancy. Through her photos, she explores the boundary between the real and fantasy world through recurring motifs. Cinema, mythology or even american folklore : these are the images echoing this series. It is with self-mockery that she paints her unique world over and over again through photography. Sorry, No Vacancy is presented from the 28th of September to the 28th of October 2017 at the Galerie Catherine et André Hug.
